Sean Cleary has worked to lower costs for North Dakota families, protect taxpayers, and make state government more open and accountable. Here are some of the results he has helped deliver:​​​

Cutting Taxes

​

The Legislature passed a major property tax relief plan in 2025. It raised the primary home tax credit from $500 to $1,600 a year and provided more relief for seniors and disabled veterans.

​In 2023, lawmakers passed the largest income tax cut in state history. Most North Dakotans now pay little or no state income tax, letting families keep more of their paychecks.

Supporting Families 

​

Sean sponsored a bill to support family members who care at home for relatives with autism, disabilities, or serious medical needs. Families who are caring for loved ones need to be supported. 

 

Sean voted to make sure no North Dakota kid goes without breakfast or lunch at school, and he supports the upcoming ballot measure for universal school meals. With the rising cost of living, North Dakota should do more to help with the cost of education. ​

Lowering Health Care Costs

Sean led the effort to limit what people pay for insulin to $25 a month, so no family has to choose between filling a life-saving prescription and paying their other bills.

Protecting Your Tax Dollars

​

Sean has pushed to make the board that manages the state's Legacy Fund more open and careful with your money. He called for meeting videos to be saved and posted online so the public can see how big decisions get made. 

 

Sean led an effort to amend the state constitution so the Legacy Fund can grow by billions, money that can go toward tax relief and investing in our communities.
